Favorite Experiences of 2019 (+2020 so far)

Favorite Experiences of 2019 (+2020 so far)

There’s something about getting older and birthdays and makes me reflect on a lot of my personal journey. As I turn 24 I wanted to share some of my favorite experiences from the past year.

To start off, most recently I got to take my favorite girl on her first out of state trip. Snoopy and I have gotten to take several short trips across Wisconsin, but in February I brought her along for a cabin weekend in Illinois with our friend Sarah. Snoopy got to play in the snow, have some couch time watching Ice Age, and explore the local park.

Snoop also got to take some day trips to different parts of Wisconsin. We went to the Crivitz area for some snowy driving and hiking with our favorite road trip buddy Laura!

In June my dad and I went back to South Dakota for a Father’s Day week long trip and the main highlight for the trip was the sunrise Buffalo Jeep Safari through Custer State Park. It was kind of rainy cold morning, but we had the best time listening to our guide make jokes along the way while learning some things as well. Did you know that the babies are also known as cinnamon calves?

We were able to see so many animals as well as parts of the park we hadn’t seen before. We also saw so many buffalo!!

I got to shoot my first out of state wedding and it was AMAZING!! Niki and Andy brought me up to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for the craziest weekend for their sea cave wedding and hiking day after session. My family got to come along and enjoy the cozy house we rented in the area!

I got to experience so many different parts of Devil’s Lake with my couples! I love getting to share this amazing place with people, many of them for the first time.

Snoop and I even got to hike and camp at Devil’s Lake with some new friends, Alex and Rachel and their dog Melvin. I met Rachel and Alex earlier in the year when I shot their engagement photos (at Devil’s Lake!) and their wedding. It was kind of cold day, but you can tell by the look on Snoop’s face we had such a great time!

Caleb and Gabbi (and Makayla as make-up artist) helped me pull off the spooky photo shoot of my dreams! As a lover of Tim Burton, I always get the itch around Halloween to do more gothic inspired work and this year I finally got to make it happen.

One thing that this year had in common is that I got to share it with so many kind and wonderful people. That made it the best year yet.
